Mexican Red Burrito Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  • Heat the oil in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat.
  • Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
  • Add the cumin, chili powder, oregano, paprika, and salt and cook for 1 minute.
  • Add the tomato sauce and chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving.
